This should be good one. It's going to be on in the castle grounds in Macroom. Mick Flannery playing also, though not sure if on the same night as Damien. What do people think of MF? Not sure what to make of him. He lives in Cork and I nearly drove over him in McCurtain Street last year (literally!). lol. Been onto some of the festival organisers and more info available shortly. Don't really go to the gigs anymore as no-one I know is really into Damien and they only go to please me. I'd go on me own now and again, but kinda get tired of that. But this time avid fan coming with me and travelling a long way to get to the gig! Damo, if you're reading, we would love to meet ya after for a drink if you're not doing anything else! I think you probably know us by now!! So hopefully see ya after.

It was unreal!!!!! Damo was on fire!!!!!!!!!! (lol). It was unreal though actually! We had a fantastic night and at the end of the gig there was hardly anyone left so we had Damo and the whole band to ourselves!!! And just as we were really getting into it and wanted him to sing for the next three days non stop he had to come off the stage or he would have been kicked out by the bouncers for going over the time I'd say, cos his own bouncer had to call him to come off the stage! He told us he was going to give us a great gig and he did! Mick Flannery was on before him. We gave him a chance, we really did. After one or two songs, we were not saying nice things about him. And by the end, all we were short was throwing the rotten tomatoes to be honest!!! Met him outside the Marquee later on in the night, where he was skulking around the burger van got a picture taken with him for the sake of it. Not my scene at all really. Seems like lots of people saw Damo for the first time last night. One of my buddies was there and it was his first time seeing him, but he has all his c.d's. for ages. He loved him! Another fella had gone all the way up to Dublin (I don't know when) to see him in Vicar Street but Damo had cancelled the gig, so he was was well happy to be there last night. I had to wear my shades for the whole gig as I developed an allergy to a new eye makeup and my eyes kept watering the whole time and I nearly drove Heather nuts going into pub toilets re-applying so I just gave up in the end. But it was cool cos people told me they were bad ass and that I looked like Florence! Eternal teenager I know. heh heh. Damo said that the women of Ireland - the strong celtic women should rebel against the church and form our own and play trad in there and fcuk them pontiffs out in Rome! Lol! That'd be great cos most Catholics don't want to abolish their faith but like who goes to mass much anymore with all that's happened? Can't think of much else that happened really! For now! But still on the Damo gig high! Heather is still in bed, we didn't get to bed til well after 4. I'm wrecked tired! Gonna have coffee now and we're heading in town then after. Come back Damo!!!!!! We miss you !!!!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

But what a bunch of ignorant people left before it was over! How rude is that? O.k. it was the last gig of the night and there were quite a few gigs before that but still like.......... I'll bate them if I see any of them!!!!!!

Sounds like you had a great time Sal and I can understand your frustration at people leaving because I feel almost evangelical about Damo, I want everyone to hear him. On a personal level though it's great to almost have him to yourself. I suppose we have to be big hearted and grown up because it is his 'career' and he needs the punters to keep coming then we get to see more of him. Would you not try and go to the next island one? When we were on boffin he made such an impression on one of the girls in the hotel that she is going. She even got invited by him down to his room (with plenty of others) for the after show songs and she had never heard of him before that gig! We would be hanging onto his every word if we got a chance to be that close up to him singing wouldn't we! Life can be very unfair sometimes. Never mind, here's to the next time then. It'll probably be liverpool for us. Thanks for the lovely update Sal...Patxxxx

Hi Pat. I was hoping someone would get back to me so I could talk about Damo!!!! Lol. We met your buddy Sean before the gig. Inisboffin must have been something else cos he was still going on about it!!! As for me going next year - don't know. It's a bit far away. And if I wanted to leave in the middle of the night or something, I'd be trapped!!! I heard it's beautiful up there though..... Heather got a tatoo on her back with Damo lyrics on it and she really wanted to show it to him. After the gig we met Sean again and I asked him if we could see Damo and he said no. He wasn't being rude or even sharp, but he said that Damo was getting changed etc. He told us before the gig that they were on the piss for the night.... but he didn't know where they were heading to. After the gig all the pubs were shut so maybe they just went back to their hotel or something. But Heather is going to see him in Dublin in a few weeks, so maybe she'll get a chance to show him then. The gig itself was brilliant as I said, and I got the buzz of a lifetime!! During "It's All Good", Damo came up near the crowd as usual the way he does with the mike. I had my hand up in the air as you do, o.k. I admit I was reaching to touch hands with him but the next thing he locked onto my hand. Lol. I got the shock of my life. Some buzz though!!! He kept singing away holding onto my hand. Then the sound guy came along and he had to leave go. Heather has the whole thing taped and it'll be up on Youtube when she's back from hols next week. Lol. My hand looks fat in it though! Lol. Talk about vanity! So yeah Pat. I don't really know when I'll be at a gig again either. Great night though. Great memories. x

Is that your hand then Sal? Oh the excitement, you should have pulled him into your arms......Great fun. I love this sunny weather at last but it's a bit of a bummer that it's come when all the fun is finished. Manchester/inishbofin-I know where I'd like to be. Still, at least we have some good memories. Patxx

Pull him into me? Don't think so! I wouldn't want to make a complete gowel outa myself at all! Anyway he probably just locked onto me cos he felt sorry for me. Lol! Nah, Damo has loads of young and beautiful female fans that can be mauling him away! I'm a middle aged ex drunk. Be more in my line to be going for my cuppa cocoa it would. LOL!!!!
